Connect Sage Intacct
Set up Sage Intacct for Summit Spend, connect, and finish setup so coded spend and receipts export.
Connect Sage Intacct to bring your chart of accounts and dimensions into Summit, code card charges against them, and export coded charges and their receipts to Sage. Sage Intacct is included on the Professional plan and up.
Before you start
You'll need:
- A Sage Intacct user with company administrator rights, to change subscriptions and security settings.
- A Summit Admin to connect it.
- Your Sage Intacct Company ID: the value you type in the Company ID box when you sign in to Sage Intacct. It isn't always the company name shown at the top of the screen.
Set up Sage Intacct
Do these three steps in Sage Intacct first. Summit shows the same checklist on its connect screen.
- Turn on the Web Services subscription. Go to Company > Subscriptions and make sure Web Services is on. Sage lets you finish the next steps without it, but every connection attempt fails until it's on.
- Create a Web Services user. Go to Company > Web Services Users and add a user for Summit Spend to sign in as, for example
summitspend. Give it read access to your GL accounts and dimensions, and write access to credit card transactions and supporting documents. If your company has multiple entities, create this user at the top level; you choose the entity in Summit. - Authorize Summit Spend. Go to Company > Setup > Company > Security > Authorized client applications. Add Summit Spend's client ID, and set that entry's Web Services user ID to the user from step 2. You can copy the client ID from the connect screen in Summit.
Connect in Summit
- Go to Settings > Accounting > ERP connection (open it) and click Connect on Sage Intacct.
- Under Before you connect, in Sage Intacct, click the copy button next to the client ID if you still need it for step 3 above.
- In Web Services username, enter the Web Services user ID, then @, then your Company ID. For example,
summitspend@ACME. - Click Connect.
Summit starts the first sync of your coding fields. It usually finishes within a minute. After that, fields sync on their own every few hours.
If Summit can't connect, the message tells you why. See Sage Intacct connection errors.
Finish setup
- Entity (multi-entity companies only). On the Sage Intacct page, a Sage entity section appears. Choose the Posting entity Summit exports to.
- Coding fields. In Settings > Accounting > Accounting fields, choose which fields people see when they code and which are required.
- Charge cards. In Settings > Cards & receipts > Card owners, enter the Sage Intacct charge card ID for each card and save. A card without one can't export. See Assign each card to its cardholder.
- Receipt files. Sage only accepts attachments through its older XML Web Services, which sign in separately. On the Sage Intacct page, find Receipt attachment sync, click Configure, and enter the Web Services user's Company ID, User ID and password. Ask support@summitspend.com for our sender ID, and add it in Sage under Company > Setup > Company > Security > Web Services authorizations. Without this, exports still post, just without receipt files.
Next: Export coded spend.
