Connect, assign and share cards
Bring in your company cards, give each one an owner, and let others see a card when they need to.
Summit works with the company cards you already have. You connect them once and new charges flow in on their own.
Connect a card
- Go to Cards & banks and click Connect account.
- Sign in to your bank in the window that opens and pick the card accounts to bring in.
- Choose how far back to import, from the last 30 days up to all available history.
Summit checks for new charges through the day. Click Sync to pull them now. If the bank connection expires, the card shows Reconnect; click it and sign in to the bank again.
If your company uses a Mastercard commercial card feed, Summit sets it up with you. Once it's running, Settings > Cards & receipts > Card feeds shows the files received and any cardholders Summit couldn't match.
Assign each card to its cardholder
A cardholder sees, and gets reminders for, the cards assigned to them, so do this for every card.
- Go to Settings > Cards & receipts > Card owners.
- Pick the owner for each card. The Department column shows the owner's department.
- If you use Sage Intacct, fill in the Charge card ID too. A card showing "Not mapped" will fail to export.
You can also assign cards from a person's page under Cards.
Share a card with someone else
Use this when a Member needs to see charges on a card they don't hold, like an office manager who keeps track of a shared card.
- Open People and click the person.
- Under Can also see, add the card.
They'll see that card's charges everywhere: lists, approvals, reports and exports. Managers and Admins already see every card, so this section only shows for Members.
