Lost a receipt? Request a waiver
Ask an approver to accept a charge without its receipt, and how approvers review the request.
When a receipt is truly gone, you can ask for a waiver instead. An approver decides whether the charge can go ahead without one.
Waivers are off until an admin turns on Allow receipt waivers. See Allow receipt waivers.
Request a waiver
You request waivers from the Summit Spend mobile app.
- Open the charge.
- Tap I don't have a receipt. On Android, tap Request receipt waiver.
- Add a reason, like "Parking meter, no receipt printed." It's optional, but it helps the approver decide.
- Tap Send request.
The charge then shows Waiver requested — pending review. Changed your mind or found the receipt? Tap Cancel request, or just attach the receipt.
The option only shows when the charge has no receipt attached.
What happens next
| You'll see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Receipt waived | Approved. The charge no longer needs a receipt |
| Waiver request denied | Not approved. Attach the receipt, or ask again with more detail |
Review a waiver request
Anyone who can approve spend (a Manager or Admin) can review a waiver.
- Open Transactions and click the charge. Its receipt section shows Waiver requested with Pending review and the reason.
- Click Approve or Deny.
You can't review your own request, even as an Admin. Someone else has to.
