Keep a charge out of accounting

Exclude personal or non-business charges, and mark charges you already entered by hand.

Some charges shouldn't go to your accounting system from Summit. There are two ways to handle them.

Exclude a charge

Use this for a personal charge on a company card, a test charge, or anything that doesn't belong in your books.

  1. Open the charge from Transactions.
  2. Click Mark excluded at the bottom of the charge.

It moves to the Excluded tab on Transactions and stays out of exports. To undo it, open the charge and click Re-include.

To exclude several at once, tick them on Transactions and click Mark Excluded in the bar that appears.

If someone put a personal charge on the company card, sort out repayment with them outside Summit.

Mark a charge as already synced

Use this only when someone already entered the charge in your accounting system by hand, so Summit doesn't post it a second time.

  1. Open the charge and click Mark synced.
  2. Say why it's already there, for example "Entered by hand in Sage on 6/5 as CCT-1234". This is required and is kept for the audit trail.
  3. Click Mark synced without exporting.

Nothing is sent to your accounting system. The charge shows as "Marked synced (manual)" and is left out of future exports. If you want Summit to post the charge, export it as usual instead.

Both options need the Admin or Manager role, or a custom role that allows them.
