Add receipts
Every way to get a receipt onto a charge, and what to do when one doesn't match.
Pick the way that fits the moment. All of them end up in the same place.
On the web
- Open Transactions and click the charge.
- Drop the file into the Receipt section, or click browse.
You can upload JPEG, PNG, GIF and PDF files, or a saved email (.eml).
By email
Send or forward the receipt to receipts@summitspend.com.
- Send it from the email you sign in with. Summit matches emailed receipts by who sent them. A receipt from a personal account or any other address is dropped, and no bounce comes back.
- Forward each receipt by hand. An automatic forwarding rule keeps the store's address as the sender, so those receipts won't arrive.
- Attach photos, PDFs or the original email, up to 10 MB each. If there's no attachment, the email itself becomes the receipt.
If emailed receipts never show up for anyone at your company, ask your admin whether receipt forwarding is turned on.
On your phone
In the Summit Spend app:
- Receipts tab: tap Take Photo, Upload File or Choose from Library. Summit suggests its charge, or you can tap Find Matching Transaction.
- On a charge: open it and tap Attach Receipt.
Several at once
On the web, open Receipts and upload them all. Summit suggests a charge for each one.
When a receipt doesn't match
A receipt you send in by email or upload without picking a charge is attached on its own only if your admin has turned on automatic attaching, and then only when Summit is sure: exactly one charge with the same amount to the cent, a date within 3 days (7 for travel), and the same merchant. Otherwise, and whenever automatic attaching is off, the receipt waits in Receipts for you to confirm.
- Open Receipts and choose the Unmatched or Suggested filter.
- Open the receipt and pick its charge, or confirm Summit's suggestion.
If Summit marks a receipt Possible Duplicate, it matches a file already uploaded. Choose Confirm Duplicate or Not a Duplicate.
