Review and approve
Find what's waiting on you, approve or reject it, and work through a queue fast.
Everything waiting on you is on the Approvals page in the left menu. The number next to it is how many items need you.
What you can see
With the Manager role you see every card and charge in your company. You also see anything sent to you for approval. If you're missing something you need, ask your admin.
Approve or reject
- Open Approvals. The tabs narrow the list:
- All: everything waiting on you.
- Flagged: a policy rule was broken.
- Missing items: the coding isn't finished.
- Click a row. You'll see the receipt, merchant, amount, date, cardholder, GL account and any policy check.
- Choose Approve or Reject. Skip moves on and leaves it for later.
- Rejecting always asks for a reason of at least 10 characters. The cardholder sees it and can fix the charge and resubmit it.
- Approving a flagged charge asks for a short justification. Your company may also ask for a note on every approval.
- To fix coding before you approve, click Open full detail and edit the Coding section.
Use Search merchant or person and Filters to narrow the list by cardholder or type, or to sort by largest first.
Approve several at once
Tick the boxes on the rows, then click Approve N or Reject N. If any are flagged, one justification covers them all.
When it isn't your turn yet
If a charge needs more than one approver, you'll see who it's waiting on, or which step of the chain it's at.
On your phone
The Summit Spend app has an Approvals tab with Approve and Reject on each item. Tap Select to decide on several at once. To change coding, use the web.
Ask a question
Open the charge and use the comment box on its Approval chain card. You can @mention people there.
History and reminders
- Click History on the Approvals page to see what you've approved and declined.
- Summit sends a weekly in-app reminder on Mondays for anything that's waited on you for more than three days. Choose how you're notified in Settings > Notifications.
